Design begins to form the tangible components, specifications, methods, and means of achieving the requirements.  It can be both a theoretical as well as physical modelling, and prototyping exercise.

Building begins, possibly with a prototype, based on the chosen design and the requirements in mind.  Not just the software but any hardware, network, training, testing, change management starts to become tangible.

The application is tested to ensure it meets the requirements.  Defects in build are recorded and reviewed for rectification whether they are functional, performance, or cosmetic.  Re-development may be required.

The people operating the application and driving the business processesneed the skills and practise to become proficient in the application.  The training might be performed by ourselves to each ‘user’ or we might train a ‘key user’ who then trains other ‘users’.

The final stage of all the hard work is to make it happen!  The changes required for the new application are made in the business – hardware, software, network, media, materials, communications, etc etc.  The sequence, priority, and status of all these tasks is carefully scheduled and managed.

Following implementation, the reality of the design, development, and training are reviewed.  Real-life usage can be confirmed, or modifications or new ideas might be identified as new requirements.
